2017 has been another year of huge success for the sixth form students at SPH; all richly deserved after many hours of hard work, determination and perseverance by students, staff and parents!

There were some top performances across the piste which some particularly stellar performances from Gemma Poulter, Alice Webb, Michael Turner, Anna Thomas, Nicolas Savill, Bethany O´Carroll and Anna McCartain, who all gained a full set of A*-A grades. Closely followed by Saffron Hooton, Ryan Jessop, Kathryn McKrill, Harriet Owers and Richard Schaeffer who all achieved 2 A*/As. In fact 29% of all students sitting their A2 exams achieved at least 1 A*/A grade which is a tremendous achievement.

Those taking their AS exams were also celebrating. Emily Broadhurst, Eloise Carter and Holly Tarleton all achieved 4 A grades, with Oliver Button, Connor Cruicks, Olivia Iden, Holly Leal, Harry McCrirrick and Daniel Thomas gaining 3 A grades. 25% students sitting AS exams achieved the top grade in one or more of their exams.

Leon Hogan, Head of Sixth Form said ´We are delighted for our students. These grades are a result of the hard work of, and commitment from, staff, parents and most of all the students who have dedicated themselves to their studies. Numbers joining our Sixth Form continue to increase year on year, with our own students returning after completing their GCSEs and students joining from other schools. This is testament to how successful our A-Level students are. Our results today are excellent and for those students who have now completed their education at SPH I would like to wish them every success in the future, they are always welcome back and will a part of our SPH family forever.´

David Carter, Headteacher also commended the hard work of the students. ´We are very proud of all that our students have achieved, not just academically but also in terms of the people that they have become. They are a credit to the school and their families.´

Enrolment for Year 11´s moving into Year 12 is from Thursday 24th August and can be completed online or in school. We welcome applications from other schools too and would be pleased to meet anyone looking to join our wonderful community. Please do get in touch.
