NEWSLETTER April 2019
In my six-and-a-bit years as Headteacher of SPH, I can safely say that this is the most focused, calm and well-prepared I've seen our wonderful students before they enter the exam period next term. This is a result of hard work, determination, great teaching and committed parenting. It is important that we keep in our prayers all those sitting exams, give them plenty of encouragement, reassurance and calm advice. There is still plenty of time for students to address areas of improvement. As usual we have a number of targeted revision sessions over the Easter break (16-18 April); please do make sure your son/daughter attends these if they have been invited to. We also have supervised study rooms on these days, if your son or daughter needs somewhere to revise away from the distractions of home.
We've had another action-packed half term as evidenced by the wealth of events written about in this newsletter. It is wonderful to see how active, enthusiastic and well-rounded our students are. I do hope you enjoy reading all about their achievements and feel proud of being part of the SPH community.
Christ is at the centre of our school community. During Lent we have prayed, fasted and given alms in our continued bid to grow closer to God. Let Easter be a time when Jesus is reborn in us, when we become more Christ-like in our dealings with others and do our bit to build God's Kingdom. One place to start is in our own families, so I do hope that you get plenty of time with them over Easter.
